  • How do you handle on-call and production incidents? What did the last post-mortem change?
  • How are design decisions made and recorded?
  • What does the test and release pipeline look like? How long from merge to production?

For a hiring manager

  • What would success look like for this role in the first 6 months?
  • What distinguishes the strongest engineers on your team?
  • How do engineers grow here: is there a path to staff/principal, and what does it take?
  • How does the team work with product: who decides priorities?

For HR / recruiter

  • What are the next steps and the timeline?
  • How is the team structured, and where does this role sit?
  • What is the hybrid/office policy?
